> About us > Why Use Us?

There are numerous reasons why our clients use our services, but perhaps the principal ones are confidence in the professional standard of our work, appreciation of our excellent customer service, and our value for money pricing.

Quality Assurance

The maintaining of professional standards in the translation industry is not always easy, particularly when dealing with technically challenging texts, or languages that present typesetting complexities, or where tight turnarounds are required. The International Language Company's quality control programme is centred around two key pillars - using the best available personnel, and thorough checking systems.

Quality of Personnel

The International Language Company is fortunate to have built up an extensive database of exceptional contracting personnel over many years. The NAATI qualification is of course the overriding benchmark for our translators and interpreters, and it would be rare for anyone without NAATI professional qualifications or equivalence to be used in these areas. Our typesetters are the best in their field, with many years of experience.

What is NAATI?
· NAATI = National Accreditation Authority for Translators and Interpreters
· NAATI is responsible for setting and monitoring the professional standards for interpreters and translators in Australia
· NAATI accredits appropriately qualified interpreters and translators in Australia.

Range of Personnel

With a contractor database numbering well into the thousands, and the additional bonus of access to the personnel of our New Zealand sister company, Pacific International Translations (NZ) Ltd, the range of foreign language expertise available to The International Language Company is considerable. The advantage in this is that we will almost always have a number of people we can use for a particular job and are thus able to select the most appropriate person for that assignment. This is of particular importance when dealing with specialist and technical fields.

Checking Procedures

Unfortunately, even the best translators make mistakes. That is why thorough checking procedures to pick up "human errors" and any misinterpretation of the source language text (always possible, given that professional translators work only from their second language into their mother tongue) are vital. As obvious as this seems, it is not always the practice in the industry, either here in Australia or abroad. It is however, standard for The International Language Company and our translation and typesetting checking procedures (which include a full 2nd translator check of virtually all our translations) have proven highly successful over the years in eliminating error and ensuring professional standards are maintained.
